What is Project 2025?
Project 2025 is a presidential transition project to set the country on a path that resists leftist values. The goal is to promote the nuclear family, all states' self-governance, improve our military, and protect our “God-given” constitutional rights. Section 3 is titled “The General Welfare” and starts off with the goal of managing our national debt. It immediately discusses medicare and medicaid reform, as the authors know it is a hot topic. The author, Daren Bakst, is a Director of the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Center for Energy and Environment at the Heritage Foundation. The Heritage Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the implementation of conservative policy. They have funded this entire report.
The Projects's goals for the DoI:
The ultimate goal of the reorganization of the DOI is to encourage and advance the use of fossil fuels. Subsidies of electric vehicles should be ended. Bakst wants to roll back laws instituted by Biden to protect land and wildlife, such as The Migratory Bird Treaty Act, while reinstituting older Trump policies like American Energy Independence Act. The attitude of this author is that Land does not need protection, it should be used for "permanent forest production (531)” and we should facilitate the development of minerals, oil, and gas on native land. He wants us to “restore the right of tribal governments to enforce environmental regulations on their land (536)” while also securing the border for their safety and sovereignty. Lastly, it wants to update the Bureau of Indian Education’s schooling system, with the intention of putting children and parents first.
