My Story
Hi, I’m Tia, a culturally curious, globally-minded journalist and creator who wants to use travel and social media to tell deeper stories. I’m a nerodivergent, LGBTQ+, curvy woman of color who built her life from the ground up. My mother had me at 13, which is around the same age I entered the workforce. I was awarded a full ride scholarship for community impact in my undergrad, lived abroad, and now I am sharing thoughtful, joyful, and human-centered stories from around the world.
I have worked across industries; from corporate file clerk to gas station inspector, to exotic animal pet sitter, and advertising. Currently completing a Masters in Journalism, I’ve traveled to 11 countries so far, used over 150,000 frequent flyer miles, and stay over a month per year in hotels.
Through Tia On Tour, I document culture, community, and connection; highlighting global stories that blend fun, wonder, and sometimes, heartbreak. From natural disasters to neighborhood markets, I approach every experience with intentionality, relatability, and a lens rooted in empathy.
Tia On Tour is more than a travel blog. I aim to celebrate diversity and culture with depth and care.
